Funky Beats
My Sennheisers were moulting and I wanted to save them! This was the first time I (sort of) made my own pattern, save for those easy projects that required me to knit and seam rectangular pieces. Message me for the pattern if anyone is interested.
So happy with the outcome, they fit better than I expected! They were quick to knit: I finished the first one within a 3-hour car ride, and the other over a very long lunch. It would’ve been faster if I didn’t have to figure out dimensions and stitches along the way. It only makes sense that I knitted the second one in half the time as the first.
I used Cleckheaton’s 8-ply, lilac yarn with multi-colored specks — from the same skein as Ellie’s elf-like baby bonnet. I knitted in the round on my favorite 6 US circular needles. The pattern begins with a simple rib, followed by a row of “windows” so that my earphones can breathe, and ends with a spiraling, starfish center. The best thing about handmade is… it’s one of a kind!
